Stan Murrow was named Scout Executive for the Northwest Texas Council of the Boy Scouts of
America effective May 2nd, 2011. Stan will oversee local BSA operations headquartered in
Wichita Falls serving more than 1,100 young men and women, plus 500 adult volunteers over
12 counties in Northwest Texas.
Stan comes to Wichita Falls from Bethesda, MD, where he served as Field Director for the
Virginia South Service Area of the National Capital Area Council. He served there for almost 12
years as a Senior District Executive, Finance Director, and Field Director. He has served
almost 20 years as a professional Scouter, including tenures in Greensboro, NC and Kinston
NC.
Stan is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow. He retired as a Major in
the U. S. Army Reserves after 23 years of service.
Stan is married to Jennifer. They have three children: Matthew, a Life Scout; Logan, a Star
Scout; and Paige, a Girl Scout.
