The 74th annual "House of Eagles" Banquet was held Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Floral Heights United Methodist Church to honor the 31 Scouts who earned their Eagle rank during 2011. There were 130 people in attendance including 19 of the new Eagles.
The 2011 Officers were: Ryan Luig - President, T-22; Zachary Eathorne - Vice President, C-1; and Ryan Ritchie - Secretary, C-35.
The banquet is sponsored by the Council's Silver Beaver Scouters. Eagle Scout Barry Macha introduced all Eagles present, Charles Salter introduced all Silver Beavers present, and Ben Satterfield recognized all Eagle Palm recipients.
Each 2011 Eagle Scout received an engraved Texas plaque from Bill McGuire and the Silver Beavers.
The Fowler Award for the most Eagles was presented to T-91, Henrietta, Texas, sponsored by Henrietta Kiwanis Club, with six new Eagle Scouts.
The Class of 2011 Eagles was dedicated in memory of Silver Beaver Scouter Louis Thomas. His wife and his son, Tim, attended to receive the dedication. Tim was President of the House of Eagles in 1987.
Eagle Scout Ben Satterfield gave the Eagle Challenge and Blaney Eathorne gave the Silver Beaver Challenge.
New officers for 2012 are: Trent Yurcho - President, T-91; Max Dunham - Vice-President, C-1; and Joe Dell Williams - Secretary, T-91.
