WICHITA LODGE 35
2009 NATIONAL ORDER OF THE ARROW CONFERENCE The National Order of the Arrow Conference will be held at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, August 1-6. The total NOAC fee is $585 composed of a $395 national conference fee and a $190 transportation fee. For those members who have participated in the various fund raising activities, half their conference fee and all of their transportation costs have been covered by the fund raising, meaning their fee is $200. Those who have not taken part in the fund raising activities may need to pay the full fee. Contact Lodge Adviser David Morris or Staff Adviser Steve Sells for clarification. A $100 deposit is due in the council office by Feb. 15, 2009. The remaining funds must be paid by May 15, 2009. If there are financial issues surrounding the fees, contact the Advisers. Once an Arrowman, youth or adult, has paid their deposit and provided an email and/or telephone number, the Contingent Leader will be contacting them with further registration information. (Please note national registration, course registration, training post orders and more are done electronically, on line. So Arrowmen need access to a computer and an email account, whether it is their own or their parent's.) The delegation will be traveling by chartered bus meeting National Tour Permit requirements and driven by professional bus drivers (one of which is a member of Wichita Lodge). The Wichita Lodge contingent will depart from Perkins Scout Reservation on Friday, July 31st. (Exact time will be determined a bit later.) They will be traveling with Arrowmen from other Lodges. Arrowmen will be expected to own and wear a complete Class A uniform consisting of shirt, pants or shorts, and official BSA socks. A travel T-shirt is included as part of the delegate package. The delegate package will include official Wichita Lodge NOAC insignia including a delegate Council Shoulder Patch, pocket flap and dangle, neckerchief (arrowmen must provide their own neckerchief slide), hat, day pack and trading patches. Arrowmen will be given an opportunity to pre-order and purchase additional trading patches. The contingent will depart from Indiana University on Thursday morning, August 6 arriving back in Wichita Falls either late that night or early, early the morning of Friday, August 7.
